Clara Alvina Malsom

Clara was born in 1851 in Abinghall, Gloucestershire. Baptism 25th December.

In 1871 Clara was a servant in Abinghall.

Clara is missing in 1881. She gave birth to a daughter Bertha E Malsom in 1880.

Marriage to Thomas Russell 1891 in Birmingham. They had a son Thomas together.

In 1891 they were living in Birmingham, Thomas was a window blind maker.

Clara died in 1910 in Birmingham.

Margaret Mary Malsom

Margaret was born in Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire in 1855.

In 1871 she was living in Mitcheldean.

Death early 1881.

Janette Jane Malsom

Janette was born in 1858 in Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire. 

In 1871 she lived in Mitcheldean.

Marriage to Thomas Henry Evans, 4 June 1880, Hockley All Saints Warwickshire. They had two children, Mary Susannah born 1881 died 1883, and Janet Jane.

In 1881 they were living in Birmingham, Thomas was a coach painter. Caroline Jones Janette's mother was living with them.

In 1891 the fmaily were living in Edgebaston, Birmingham.

Janette died in 1897.

Daughter Janet Jane was a boarder in Birmingham, she was a warehousewoman in a gold jewellery business.

Marriage to Joseph Young, 18th September 1909 St. Thomas Parish, Birmingham.

They had two sons Dennis Joseph Young, John C Young.

Hezekiah Taylor

Hezekiah was born 4th December 1887 in Brierley Hill, Staffordshire. 

His family had moved to Parkgate, Rawamarsh, Rotherham by 1891 and after the death of his father Edwin in 1894 he mother re-married to Godfrey Thickett. 

In 1901 the Thickett family were living at 12 Nodder Street, Parkgate. He was aged 14 and was working in a coal mine as an underground pony driver.

In 1911 he was still living at home, 28 High Street, Rawmarsh. His occupation was a coal corporal which meant that he over-seeing coal mines for the district.

Marriage to Florence (Florrie) White 17th April 1911 in Rotherham.

Hezekiah served in WWI see here, they had two children before the war, Adeline and William Edwin, another son Bernard being born in 1923.

In 1939 he was living at 36 Albert Road, Rawmarsh, Hezekiah was a colliery haulage corporal underground, son Bernard was a colliery haulage hand underground.

Hezekiah died in 1960. Florence died in 1983.

Daughter Adeline was born 22nd August 1911. Marriage to Thomas Gould in 1929. They had       children: Jeffrey, Edith M, Walter E, Elsie, Jean, Brian, Margaret A.  In 1939 the family were living at 51 Oates Avenue, Rawmarsh. Thomas was a colliery underground filler. 

Adeline died in 2003.

Son William Edwin Taylor was born 6th September 1913. Marriage to Elsie Havenhand in 1937. They had three children: Marlene (1939-1940), and two other daughters.In 1939 the family lived at 64 Netherfield Land, Rawmarsh, William was a colliery Hewer. They had a lady named what looks like Samaria Sherburn born in 1883 staying with them. 

William died in 1984.

Second son Bernard Taylor was born 26th April 1923. There were too many possible marriages. Death 25th April 1983.

George Edwin Taylor

George was born 31st March 1891.

Marriage to Sarah E Palmer in 1912.

In 1939 George and Sarah were living at 5 Rockingham Road, Swinton. George was a miner haulage below ground.

Couldn't find a death for George.

​

At least three Taylor children died in infancy.

Elizabeth Thickett

Elizabeth was born 31st March 1896.

Marriage to Henry E Parry in 1922.

In 1939 she was widowed and living at Glen View, Dearne with her children. Husband Henry died in 1937. Son Wilfred was a colliery haulage loader underground. Son Cyril was at school.

Elizabeth re-married in 1943 to Samuel T Gething in Hemsworth.

re-married to George E Graham in 1956.

Elizabeth died in 1979.

Thomas Thickett

Thomas was born 13th July 1897.

Marriage to Mabel Charles in 1925. They had four children.

In 1939 the family were living at 25 Foljambe Street, Thomas was a colliery girder carrier.

Thomas died in 1962. Mabel in 1974.

Son Ronald was born 1926. Marriage to Ruth A Bingham in 1949..

In the 1960 electoral register they  at 11 Westby Crescent in Whiston.

Death 26th March 2012.

second son Derrick Thickett was born 9th January 1928. Marriage to Edna M Barber in 1928.

Derrick was living at home in 1939 with his parents.

In the 1960 electoral register they were living at 13 Barrie Grove, Rother Valley.

Derrick died 1st July 2000.

third son Thomas B thickett was born 1933 and died an infant the same year.

Walter Thickett

Walter was born in 1899. Marriage to Nellie Fox  in 1919.

In 1939 Nellie was living at home with her parents and daughter at 12 Hooton Roberts, Rotherham. Walter was living in lodgings at Doncaster Road, Barnsley a coal hewer.

They had  three  children, Elizabeth A, Robert, Lily, Robert and Lily died in infancy. 

 Walter died in 1963.

Arthur Thickett was born in 1901 and died in 1901.

Caroline Thickett

Caroline was born 16h December 1904. Marriage to Charles Prescott in 1920.

They had five children, 

Charles was imprisoned for a month in 1921 for Loitering with intent to commit a felony.

In 1939 they were living at 78 Netherfield Lane, Rawmarsh. Charles was colliery wagon unloader.

Caroline died in 1963 and Charles in 1968.

Daughter Nellie was born 22nd December 1920. In 1939 she was living in lodgings in Valley Drive Harrogate and was a waitress. Marriage to Thomas Woodhouse in 1942 in Rotherham. 

Death in Rotherham in 1982.

second daughter was born in 1926. Marriage  in 1943.

In the 1960 electoral register they lived in the Rother Valley.

No death found.

Third daughter Molly was born 25th February 1929.

Living at home with her parents in 1929.

Marriage to Harold Uttley in 1948.

Death 2002 in Rotherham.

Fourth daughter Thelma was born 22nd June 1932. 

Living at home with her parents in 1939.

Marriage to John P Gateley in 1951.

Death 1995 in Rotherham.

Fifth daughter Margaret May was born 9th December 1933.

Living at home with her parents in 1939.

Marriage to Thomas D Abbs in 1950.

Death 2006 in Rotherham.
