Children of Thomas Henry Walker and Margaret Whittingham.
Samuel Whittingham
Sam was born 4th July 1891 in Skipton. He was at home at 12 Union Terrace with his parents in 1901. Still at home in 1911 he was a warp dresser.
Marriage to Eleanor Hargreaves 6th March 1917 in Christ Church Skipton. The couple had three children: Dorothy, George and Joan.
In the 1939 register the family lived at 2 Cumberland St, Skipton, Sam was a silk and cotton warp dresser, Eleanor was a cotton and silk weaver.
As the couple grew old they moved in to an elderly care home together.
Sam died in 1987 and Eleanor in 1986.

Dorothy was born 31st Aug 1917. She lived with her parents at 2 Cumberland St in 1919 and her occupation was an assistant stock controller for a mail order company.
Marriage to Russell Harling in Skipton in 1943.
George was born 15th November 1919 in Skipton.
Marriage in 1940 to Margaret Schofield. They made their home in Burnside, Skipton where George lived to an old age.
His occupation was an insurance agent and used to visit our house every week to collect the policy money. His voice was very loud! I visited him in his very elderly years to speak with him about the family tree. His daughter told me she would e-mail some photograph's of the family but I didn't hear anything more.
George died 24th February 2017 aged 97.
Nothing further found for Joan.
Fred Walker Whittingham was born 8th January 1896 in Skipton. His occupation in 1911 was a cotton drawing frame tender and lived at home with his parents.
Marriage to Lily Crossthwaite in 1922 in Skipton. They had four children.
Fred was in WWI, his military record is on the military history page.
Fred was a motor mechanic but also had a fruit and veg stall on Skipton Market.
He died due to an accidental poisoning by his wife, after making a stew she added what whe thought was gravy browing but was in fact weed killer. I can't understand why it didn't kill her aswell?
Death 21st October 1951 at Whitfield Hospital (now Skipton General).
Probate to his wife.
James Walker was born 29th January 1899 in Skipton. James fought in WWI but unfortunately died from the Spanish Flu pandemic 8th February 1919. His name was never mentioned in the family after his death, mum used to say there was a photo on the wall of a young man in military uniform but whenever she asked who it was she was told 'nobody'.
Martha Walker was born 31st August 1900 in Skipton. Her occupation was a textile reacher in. Martha never married and died in Skipton in 1953.
Minnie Walker was born 28th March 1903 in Skipton. Minnie was recorded as a mothers help in the 1939 register, she remained a spinster and died in 1987 in Skipton.
Allan Walker was born 27th February 1905. He was living at home in 1939 and his occupation was a master painter and decorator. Marriage to Lily Thistlethwaite in Skipton in 1941.
Allan had a paint and decorating shop on Sackville Street, Skipton.
He died in 1982 in Skipton. Probate gives his address as Castle Villa's, Keighley Road, Skipton.
Albert Walker was born 9th September 1908 in Skipton. Marriage to Ethel Colley in Skipton in 1937. They had three children.
In 1939 they lived at 8 Union Terrace, Skipton and Albert's occupation was a painter.
Albert died 1st November 1955 at 8 Union Terrace, Skipton. Probate to his wife.
Lewis Walker was born 30th June 1911 in Skipton. In 1939 he lived at home, his occupation was a painter for the LMS railway and travelled with his work. He would have been a member of the LMS club close by Skipton Station which closed during the past few years.
Marriage to May Thistlethwaite (sister of Lily) in 1946 in Skipton. They had a son Steven who died in 2008.
Lewis died 28th October 1985 in Skipton. Probate gives his address as 12 Union Terrace, Skipton, the old family home.

Lily Walker was born 30th June 1911 in Skipton, twin to Lewis. Her occupation in 1939 was a textile thread process worker, hand spooler, maybe she worked at the famous Belmont Mills aka Silko in Skipton.
I haven't found a death for Lily.
